Alteration in the pattern of locomotion following a partial movement restraint in puppies.

چکیده
The pattern of locomotion following a partial movement restraint was studied in five mongrel puppies. The locomotion of the animals was characterized by enforced pacing during the restraint period and exhibited significant, time dependent gait alterations after removal of the restraint. These changes involved gradual recovery to normal trotting. The time course and the degree of recovery in the animals were dependent on the period of movement restraint. Puppy that was forced to practice pacing for only two months switched almost instantaneously to the normal trotting, whereas in those dogs with a longer selective movement restraint, a significant long lasting incidence of pacing was observed. The study describes an animal model which can be useful as tool in future studies of the plasticity of motor system and its basic mechanisms in various physiological conditions.

Comparison of combined strength and feedback trainings on kinetic and functional factors in athletes with plyometric pattern
Feedback instruction is a proven modality for the alteration of motion patterns. There are no existing data on the contribution of strength training, when combined with feedback instruction, to the altering of lower extremity biomechanics. Thus the purpose of the current study was comparison of strength training program with external and internal focus of attention strategies on kinetic and fu...
متن کاملUsing the Adaptive Frequency Nonlinear Oscillator for Earning an Energy Efficient Motion Pattern in a Leg- Like Stretchable Pendulum by Exploiting the Resonant Mode
In this paper we investigate a biological framework to generate and adapt a motion pattern so that can be energy efficient. In fact, the motion pattern in legged animals and human emerges among interaction between a central pattern generator neural network called CPG and the musculoskeletal system. Here, we model this neuro - musculoskeletal system by means of a leg - like mechanical system cal...
متن کاملEffect of Restraint Stress during Gestation on Pentylenetetrazol-Induced Epileptic Behaviors in Rat Offspring
Objective(s): Epilepsy is a neurodevelopmental disorder which is strongly influenced by genetic and environmental factors. Gestational stress has been shown to be an important factor for affecting seizure susceptibility. The present study was conducted to address whether gestational stress may affect pentylentetrazol (PTZ)-induced epileptic behavior in rat offspring in a sex- and a...
متن کاملThe role of CRH in behavioral responses to acute restraint stress in zebrafish
In teleosts, changes in swimming, exploring, general locomotor activity, and anxious state can be a response to stress mediated by the corticotropin-releasing hormone system activation and its effects on glucocorticoid levels. Zebrafish has been widely used to study neuropharmacology and has become a promising animal model to investigate neurobehavioral mechanisms of stress. In this report the ...
متن کاملMilled Stress Reduces Morphine-Induced Locomotion in F2 NMRI Mice
In the present study, the effects of pregnant NMRI mice restraint stress on the responsibility of their children to the behavioral properties of morphine, sulpiride and dextromethorphan were investigated in the F2 generation. Twenty four pregnant NMRI female mice (W: 25 g) were divided into the experimental and control groups (n = 12/group). Animals in the experimental group were kept in the r...
